Earth Day 2008 will strive to be a Zero Waste event. For the first time ever, the North Lake Tahoe Truckee Earth Day will also strive to be a “Carbon Neutral” event. learn more>

NEW THIS YEAR! The Earth Capades!
The Earth Capades Planetary Circus   weaves water awareness and waste reduction with comedy, audience participation and circus acts, bringingvolunteers up onto the stage. The Earth Capades hits the funny bone of young and old alike.

haute trashHaute Trash Fashion Show
Back by popular demand! Haute Trash is a troupe of resourceful artists from the Nevada City area who produce runway fashion shows featuring styles made from society’s trash. Haute Trash has appeared nationally.

Push, Pull or Pedal Eco Parade...
For
kids of all ages!
Participants are encouraged to develop a non-motorized craft such as a wagon, bike or tricycle made from recycled materials and push, pull or pedal it past judges.

Registration: 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Check in Location: Earth Day Tent
Parade Begins: At 10:00 a.m.
Location: At the Mountain Stream fountain at the East end of the Village.

Kids Activities. There will also be an extensive children’s activity area sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, a performance by the Glenshire Choir and student art work displays.

COMMUNITY BIKE RIDES: Earth Day bike rides are taking place from both Truckee and Tahoe City. In Tahoe City, meet at 64 Acres at 9:30 and in Truckee, meet at the pullout just south of the Mousehole. Ride with friends and family to Earth Day and then check in at the Truckee Climate Action Network booth for your free raffle ticket as our way of saying thanks for being Carbon Neutral! TART riders will also get a free raffle ticket and should also check in at the TCAN booth. For more info, email Shelley.
